Japanese varieties tend to be oval- or heart-shaped and come in yellow, black, or red varieties. Plums are usually categorized into Japanese plums ( Prunus salicina) and European plums ( Prunus domestica). Mature plum fruits have a dusty-white waxy coating making them appear pale gray or bluish-green.ĭepending on the variety of plum, a single plum measures between 0.7” and 2.7” (2 – 7 cm). ![]() Sweet black plums are often dried to create prunes. Plums are delicious fruits that grow on trees and are classified in the genus Prunus. However, I have picked up the demonstrator LAMY 2000 and the Blue one on Taobao so well see how that one goes, ha.Email Pinterest Facebook Twitter Linkedin The question is whether or not the general user base of FP enjoy the design and if they would go out of their way to purchase one and it seems like the answer is no. Moreover, this particular design is IMO less attractive than both the black and the brushed stainless option already available.Īll in all, I have no doubt that there are 5000 LAMY collectors in the world who will buy the pen. The stainless steel however is weighty and uncomfortable to use as an everyday pen, weighing significantly more than a pen should. The lightweight black 2000 is a staple because of the form and weight, showing is baohaus pedigree. ![]() In terms of design the stainless steel model is generally not preferred by many because of the weight of the pen and the cost. The only people I noticed liking the pen are LAMY collectors, but theyll buy anything for their LAMY collection as long as its new so its not saying too much about the product itself. Some wanted colors, whilst others wanted an interesting material but Im not sure anyone at all wanted a stainless steel model with a different color. I mean some people have been saving some money and set aside something specifically for the pen so I can understand the disappointment. I think people were just looking forward to something and theyre disappointed that it wasnt what they expected. The minor outlier is Custom 92, which retails for ¥15,000 despite its numbering. It comes with size 15 nib, and the only thing to justify (?) the price is the fact that it is an urushi pen. It is, after all, a C/C pen, and I think it is overshadowed by the more exciting 823. Since the body model remains the same across all 3 models, these pens' differentiated pricing originates from the nibs and slight body size difference. Custom 742 is fitted with size 10 FA or WA nib, while Custom 743 comes with either size 15 FA or WA nib. Custom 74 retails for ¥8,500 - ¥10,000 depending on the type of nib, and is fitted with size 5 nib. In this manner, Custom 74, 742, and 743 were all released in the same year (74 years after Pilot's inception). The last digit corresponds with the retail price of the pen: no digit means approx. Pilot's numbered pens are not exactly anniversary pens per se they are the basic flagship models, and the first 2 digits indicate the release time in how many years have lapsed since the founding of the company. ![]()
